photo documentary: is how I describe the style of my photography: loose, stylized informality that captures the essence of the event, person, or product. In the course of a shoot I make thousands of images, then I do an initial edit of the best 100 or so- these are put into a folder called ‘choice.’
Clients receive all the images, choice and raw. Raw images are sometimes out of focus, ill composed, or contain bloopers. I think these secondary images become fun to look at later on, and almost always contain useful design elements, that is why I keep them with the archive. In any case, you get to decide what is choice and what isn’t.
I format images specifically for use at quick labs (like Walgreens,) pro labs (for big prints,) and the web (images optimized for quick view.) I can handle printing or help you save money by teaching how and where to get exactly what you need.
html gallery: contains the Brent’s choice picks. They are sized and optimized for the web. The gallery posts approximately 10 days after shoot date, and is up for 30 days. Mail the gallery link to friends and family, they can download images at their convenience.
custom print package: consists of 5 files which are resized and digitally retouched by Brent to customer specification. Client retains the finished files. If you choose this option in your package, Brent creates a custom print order and delivers it to the lab. Brent covers $100.00 of the order. Cost over 100.00 shall be paid by client to the lab when the order is picked up.
prepress formatting for wedding album: includes a meeting with the client to construct a 15 page dummy. Thoughts about size, color, and placement are noted. Brent sizes/formats/color corrects all the images for the album to press specs. Brent delivers the images to the designer at the press. The client negotiates the final style of the actual album. Client is responsible for the cost of the album which can range from $100.00 to $3000.00 based on binding and paper quality options.
media sequence: artistically blends all captured elementsvideo, ambient sound, music (provided by client,) and still photography into a seamless movement. It appears on a DVD, includes chapters, titles, and captions, and plays on any DVD compatible computer or any regular stand alone DVD player hooked to a TV. I disable copy protection so you can also reproduce the DVD as required. See wedding sequences here.
Fees: My fee covers time, editing, and basic prints. This means that there are costs after the fact, depending on how the archive is used. Because you own the images, you only pay lab/finishing costs. The bulk of photo fee pays for my experience and style, which is unmatched, and which remains interesting and engaging for generations.
